Its one of those days, hours spent surfing the internet sucked into new sites and new blogs, one linking to the next, and so on and so forth. Though they are completely unproductive...I love these days! In just a short period of time my head is swimming with new projects and ideas. My favorite new blog I discovered today is called Young House Love and you should definitely check it out, this girl has amazing decorating style and so many great ideas. I found this easy project on her blog and thought I would pass it along...

Selvedge

New craft site discovered! I just came across the site Selvedge and have spent most of my morning reading through all the wonderful craft ideas, blog posts, and items for sale. This rug instantly caught my eye, what a wonderful first impression this would make as someone stepped into your house... directions are posted on their site here.

Gosh, I haven't blogged in what feels like forever! A few exciting life updates that have been keeping me quite busy recently...

I have also just joined up with an amazing group of women here in the Charlottesville area that have a wonderful little group called the Cville Craft Attack. They have had a few craft shows in the past and I will be joining in on the "Spring Craftacular" that will be taking place May 1 at OpenSpace from 10-5. Mark your calendars, this is going to be a great event and would love for you to stop by and say hi!

Lots of new frames to be made for this event; I have been collecting a wide array of unique and beautiful materials and cant wait to start creating.

In other news... garden season is just around the corner and I have a pretty big project planned for my garden this year. I have been busy starting seeds and working on building raised beds around the house... I will post pics as I get a little further in this project.

simple ornaments

I cant believe Christmas is almost here! This year my girlfriends and I decided to make ornaments to exchange instead of buying gifts. Here is what I came up with:

I took two pieces of fabriono paper I got from Rock Paper Scissors, stamped a linoleum print on both pieces and glued them together. So simple and made from items I had on hand around the house. Here are the steps:

This print was made from a linoleum carving but you can use any stamp.

Using Glue Dots I attached the ribbon to the back, and then the two pieces of paper together

Next house project on the list: make a headboard for the guest room. I just found this video on Design Sponge and it was just the motivation I needed... wonder if it really is as easy as she makes it look in the video...

I have noticed recently how many people are starting to use reusable bags at the grocery store. You see them for sale in just about every store now, and I love at Whole Foods you get the little wooden nickels to drop into the charity of your choice. I just came across a pattern to make your own "Market Bag". The pattern, by Alicia Paulson, is only $6 and looks to be fairly simple.  There is a Flickr group where others have posted their bags and it is kind of fun to see all the fabric combinations.
